Pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. Joking. No, first and foremost, I like horses. I also like photography, dance, movies, music, rootbeer floats, bonfires, s'mores and fireflies. I'm also starting to like beaches.
dislikes:
I don't like gangs, drugs, apartments, pickles, fish, spiders, or snobs.
fears:
I'm afraid of any injury that would mean I could no longer ride horses. I'm also afraid of flunking college, and disappointing my parents.
goals:
I want to graduate college, fall in love, and buy a big ol' horse ranch someplace.
secrets:
I've never had a boyfriend.
I've never been to a major city before moving to LA.
overall personality:
I'm pretty much your average 'girl next door'. My passions include horses and photography, and while I would love to be some kind of famous horse trainer, I feel the call of photographer tugging at my heart. I love to please people, and strongly dislike conflict, so when tension arises, I'm the first to joke or laugh it off, in hopes of keeping the peace. I'm friendly, but somewhat insecure, especially since coming to LA. I'm a small town girl in a very big city.

overall history:
I was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and to be honest, I never lived anywhere else, apart from a brief stay in Colorado Springs when I was twelve. My parents did well running their own real estate business, my mom the agent and my dad a private contractor that flipped the houses and did inspections on the homes Mom bought and sold. They made a decent living, and my little brother Levi and I never went without. It was when I turned twelve, during a week long stay with my aunt and uncle in Colorado Springs, while Mom and Dad went on a trip for their anniversary, that I discovered my love of horses. Aunt Virginia and Uncle Max had a modest horse farm outside of the city and it was their that I learned to ride and care for horses. When Levi and I returned home, I begged my parents for my own horse. We lived on a couple of acres in Fort Collins, and I showed them where I would keep said horse and told them all about the opportunity for responsibility and companionship. My parents eventually agreed, and we bought Dallas, a four year old Paint horse.
By the time I turned sixteen, Dallas and I were competing in small events around the county, and eventually state. We did well. However, in my sophmore year, when running a barrel race outside of Denver, Dallas lost his footing and we took a pretty bad spill. I ended up with a couple of cracked ribs and a broken arm. Dallas was fine, and I healed pretty quickly, but the accident worried me, and put a new fear in my mind. I was terrified of that happening again, and I didn't ride for three months after I'd healed up. Eventually, though, I missed being in the saddle, and I started riding again, but my competing days were over. I finished high school with exceptional grades and no more injuries.
The summer after graduation was a blur, going to bonfires with friends, taking day trips and planning for the following year, when I would attend the college in Denver and pursue a degree in photography. However, my plans were flipped upside down when doctors diagnosed Mom with cancer. I took a year off, taking care of her and pushing back my own dreams to make sure she would be okay. By the following June, she was cancer-free.
It was in July that I discovered an ad online for California State University. I had heard of the college, but never considered it. Me, LA? Right! Like that would ever happen. But over the next few weeks, it was as if something shifted, and I couldn't push down this desire for adventure. Looking into the Studio Arts program, I decided I would go for it. My grades and extracurricular activities were enough to get me a pretty decent scholarship and despite my parents' initial shock, I got their blessing and decided to enroll after getting an associates degree at the local community college. I finished the degree over the summer and enrolled the following fall to pursue my Bachelor's degree at CalState.
